The Shore with Brad Weaver: Mental Health for Creatives

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Join us on May 9 for a talk with Brad Weaver with The Shore.

Who you are and what you do are intertwined. You identify with the culture of creativity and are defined by the outcomes of your work. Your status, income, social life, and wellness can be dependent on your ability to create–and create well. Some people can separate life and work, but others can’t. The result: issues of self-worth, anxiety, panic, depression, and instability. It can cost you your job, your family and friends, your physical health, and far worse.

Many people who don't understand mental illness, both temporary and ongoing, can be frustrated or coarse with suffering colleagues or loved ones, which only exacerbates the issue. We need solutions for both those who struggle and those who manage them, love them and walk alongside them. Our research at The Shore is working toward those answers.

Backed by medical and psychological research, data science, and personal experience, we’ll dig into solutions that we can use today to simply do better. Whether you’re challenged yourself or learning to work or live with those who do, come ready to laugh, cry, learn, and thrive.
