AIGA Student Pinup Show

Come show off your talents, have FUN with good friends, and enjoy a great evening networking with other students from schools across the South. Please join us for the 6th annual AIGA/ Atlanta Student Pin-Up Show & membership party on January 24th, 6:30-10:00 pm. The exciting event will be held at Big Studio, 887 W. Marietta Street, Studio E, Atlanta, Ga.

Over $5000 in prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
2-Dimensional Graphic Design; 3-dimensional Graphic Design; Illustration; Photography; Use of Materials; plus The Foundation Award for those in their first six months of design education and The Judges Special Award. The winning work will be displayed at Binders Gallery during the month of February.

Your price of admission includes entry in the competition, two drink tickets, and all the fabulous snacks you can eat.

This years judges are amazing: Kurt Seidle, Designer, Grant Design Collaborative, Atlanta, Ga.; Nicole Riekki, Creative Director, Chick fil A Corporation, Atlanta, Ga.; Sam Eckersley, Partner, REDNYC, Atlanta/New York.

Eligibility & Rules:
To enter the competition, please bring your work to Big Studio on the evening of January 24th, between 6:30-7:30 (or until the wall is full) to be pinned on the competition wall.
No entries after 7:30 pm will be accepted. Space is limited, and submissions will be accepted until the walls are full.
Must be a current student or recent graduate to participate in the competition.
Maximum 3 entries per student. (Any identity system or branding campaign is considered 1 piece.) No group work allowed.
All work must be pin-able and no larger than 13"x19". No 3D projects accepted.
Please write your name, email, school and phone number on the back. No personal information should be visible on the front of your work. Include a brief statement about the project.

You must be present to win and accept award.

 

Categories
Students may submit a total of 3 pieces of work under any of the following categories:
2-Dimensional Graphic Design: Any 2D print piece (posters, invitations, calendars, branding systems, logos, print ads, typeface design).
3-Dimensional Graphic Design: Any 3D piece of graphic design, including models, packaging, renderings, signage/sign systems. 3D work must be presented as a photo or print-out. Physical 3D pieces will not be accepted.
Digital pieces: Any web, apps or interactive design pieces. Work must be printed out for display. No live on-screen work will be accepted.
Illustration & Photography: These category includes illustration, photography and any other pieces of visual communication that do not fall into the above categories.
Foundation Level: This category includes all of the above categories for students in their first six months of graphic design education.
